Google has launched a new spam update, the June 2024 spam update. The policies are announced by Google but this update will take a week to roll out entirely. From June 20, it will take a week.
According to Google, this is just a normal update. It has been also added that this update is not the updated algorithmic version update of the site reputation abuse policy enforcement, which has not been rolled out yet. Google will make a separate announcement for its rollout.
An Overview of Google’s Spam Updates and Policies
Google keeps updating its system to reduce the poor quality spammy content for its SERPs (search engine result pages). Even in the last update, March Core update 2024, 40% of websites with unhelpful content stopped getting recognition in the search results.
But still after these policies, many websites after violating the policies are ranking well. To make improvements in this approach Google keeps updating SpamBrain– An AI-based spam prevention system to target websites that violate spam policies.
Websites that Will be on Target after the Rollout of this Update
The main purpose of the Google update is always to improve the relevance and quality of the search results. So spam updates will take over the websites which violate Google’s rules, like:
-
A website with less, copied and low-quality content
-
If you are selling or buying spammy links to increase the ranking via your website
-
Using AI content to improve the ranking
Possible Aftereffects upon Launch
Google’s spam update will alter the ranking of the websites that are violating the spam policies. Their ranking will get lower or may disappear from the search results.
However, it will have a positive impact on genuine websites that comply with all the updates and policies of Google. Their ranking will be automatically boosted by eliminating the websites that are ranking by the wrong techniques.
Google also has quoted that if your sites notice any change after this update, you must review the spam policies to ensure compliance. In addition, If our automatic systems discover over several months that a website complies with our spam policies, then making modifications could help the website get better.
But in the case of link spam updates, making changes will not work any further. This is because the system will remove all the effects of spammy links, therefore the ranking due to these links will automatically drop. Consequently, the ranking generated by those spammy links cannot be taken back.
